A rather "scientific" writing on the art of fire assaying, detailing much of the theory behind the work.While useful, I find it goes better not alone, but in addition to "The fire assay of gold, silver, & lead in ores & metallurgical products" by Leonard S. Austin. Together they form a good base of both theory and a little hands-on explanation of how things are done.
